1. Overview
This policy explains how Sente Care collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you browse the platform, create an account, organize a campaign, contribute, request a payout or contact support.
The entity named in the final operating documents will act as the data controller for platform information. Payment providers and mobile networks may separately control information processed through their services.
2. Information we collect
- Account information such as name, telephone number, email address and encrypted password.
- Verification information such as identification details, beneficiary relationships, organisation records and supporting evidence.
- Campaign content including titles, stories, targets, photos, updates and withdrawal explanations.
- Transaction information including amount, provider, status, references and limited payer or recipient details.
- Technical information such as IP address, device, browser, security events, pages visited and cookie preferences.
- Messages, complaints, reports and other communications sent to the support team.
3. How we use information
We may use information to operate accounts and campaigns; verify organizers and beneficiaries; process and reconcile contributions and payouts; prevent fraud and misuse; provide customer support; send service notices; comply with legal obligations; investigate disputes; improve accessibility and performance; and obtain consent for optional marketing where required.
4. How information is shared
Information may be shared with payment providers, mobile networks, identity or verification vendors, hosting and communication providers, professional advisers, competent authorities and parties involved in investigating misuse. Providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and should be governed by appropriate agreements.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Public campaign information
Campaign titles, stories, images, organizer name, location, goals, progress, updates and selected ledger information may be public. Sensitive evidence, full telephone numbers, identification numbers and complete payment references should not be displayed publicly.
Contributors may choose to display their name or appear as Anonymous. The underlying transaction is still retained privately.
6. Data security
Sente Care will use measures such as encrypted connections, restricted staff access, secure password hashing, logging, backups and provider controls. No online system is completely secure, so users should protect passwords and never disclose one-time codes or mobile-money PINs.
7. Data retention
Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain financial and security records, respond to disputes and comply with applicable requirements. Retention periods may differ by record type. Data that is no longer needed should be securely deleted or anonymised.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of certain personal information; object to specified processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Some information may be retained where legally required or necessary for fraud prevention and financial records.
9. Children
Children may be beneficiaries, but campaign creation and account control should be handled by a verified adult or authorised organisation. We aim to collect only information necessary to explain and verify the cause, with appropriate consent and safeguards.
10. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside Uganda. Before launch, Sente Care should document applicable locations, safeguards, contracts and legal bases for such transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform, providers or legal requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the website or account contact details, and the latest revision date will be displayed above.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the Contact Us page. The final version should state the operating company’s legal name, physical address, data-protection contact and registration details.
