Find answers about campaigns, contributions, verification, withdrawals and account safety.

Getting started

What is Sente Care?

Sente Care is a Uganda-first crowdfunding platform for raising and contributing money toward verified personal and community causes such as medical care, education, disability support and emergencies.

Do I need an account to contribute?

No. A contributor can support a campaign without creating an account. We only request the details needed to process the payment and issue confirmation.

How do I create an account?

Select Create an account from the sign-in page, enter your real name, phone number, email address and a secure password, then complete any verification requested.

Can I use Sente Care outside Uganda?

The first version is designed for Ugandan organizers, beneficiaries and mobile-money contributors. International support may be added after suitable payment options are available.

Creating a fundraiser

Who can start a fundraiser?

An adult raising funds for themselves, a person who has authorised them, a registered organisation or an approved community representative may apply.

What documents might be required?

Requirements depend on the cause. They may include identification, medical forms, school invoices, quotations, proof of relationship, organisation documents or other evidence supporting the request.

How long does campaign review take?

Review time depends on the information provided and how quickly references or beneficiaries respond. Complete and readable evidence generally reduces delays.

Can I edit a campaign after submitting it?

Minor changes may be allowed, but material changes to the beneficiary, target or purpose can require another review before the campaign remains public.

Why was my campaign not approved?

Common reasons include missing evidence, unclear beneficiary consent, an unsupported target, duplicate campaigns, prohibited activity or information that could not be verified.

Contributions and payments

Which payment methods are supported?

The planned Uganda launch supports MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money through an approved payment provider. Available methods will always be displayed before confirmation.

Is my mobile-money PIN entered on Sente Care?

No. Never enter or share your mobile-money PIN on a Sente Care form, message or support call. PIN approval happens privately through your network’s secure prompt.

Can I contribute anonymously?

Yes. Your public name may be hidden, but Sente Care and payment providers retain the private transaction information required for security, reconciliation and legal compliance.

Why is my contribution still pending?

A pending payment may be waiting for approval, delayed by the mobile network or awaiting provider confirmation. Do not approve the same payment repeatedly.

Will I receive a receipt?

A successful contribution displays a confirmation receipt. When messaging services are enabled, a receipt or reference may also be sent by SMS or email.

Withdrawals and refunds

How does an organizer withdraw funds?

The organizer submits a withdrawal request stating the amount and purpose. Sente Care reviews the request before paying the verified beneficiary, provider or approved account.

Can funds be paid directly to a hospital or school?

Yes. Direct payment to the verified service provider may be preferred where practical because it strengthens accountability.

Can a contribution be refunded?

Completed mobile-money payments are generally final. Refunds may be considered for duplicate transactions, technical errors or circumstances required by law or provider rules.

What happens if a campaign does not reach its target?

Unless the campaign specifically uses an all-or-nothing model, verified funds may still be used toward the stated purpose. The organizer should explain any change to the plan.

Safety and reporting

What does the verified badge mean?

It means Sente Care reviewed specified identity and campaign information. It does not guarantee that every statement remains accurate or that the campaign will achieve its goal.

How do I report a suspicious campaign?

Use the Contact Us page, choose Report a campaign, include the campaign link and describe the concern. Do not publish private documents or accusations on social media.

Will Sente Care ask for my password or PIN?

No. Staff should never request your password, one-time code or mobile-money PIN. Anyone asking for them is attempting to compromise your account or payment.

What happens after I submit a report?

The team records the concern, reviews available information and may pause payments, request more evidence, restrict an account or refer serious matters to the relevant authorities.
